Advertising and Sponsorship Policy

Last updated: April 18, 2025

At Ask Dokita, our mission is to provide Nigerians with accurate, trustworthy, and supportive health information. To keep our platform free and sustainable, we may display ads, use affiliate links, or partner with sponsors.

We value your trust and that of all our readers, and that’s why we follow strict rules to make sure advertising and sponsorships never compromise our editorial independence.

If you’d like to advertise with Healthline Media, contact us here. These are the specific guidelines we follow about the types of advertising we accept:

1. Review of Ads

  • We have full control over the types of ads that appear on Ask Dokita.
  • We may reject, cancel, or remove any ad at any time if we believe it is misleading, unsafe, or inappropriate.
  • We decide where ads are placed on the site and will clearly separate them from editorial content.

2. No Endorsement

  • The appearance of an ad on Ask Dokita does not mean we endorse the product, service, or company.
  • Any reviews or ratings of products on our site are created independently by our editorial team, without influence from advertisers.

3. Ads We Do Not Accept

We will not allow ads that are:

  • Misleading, false, or harmful.
  • Promoting unsafe drugs, fake cures, or unapproved remedies.
  • Offensive, discriminatory, or unlawful under Nigerian law.
  • Related to alcohol, gambling, pornography, firearms, tobacco, or political campaigns.
  • Designed to look like editorial content without a clear “Advertisement” label.

All ads must clearly identify the advertiser.

4. Clear Separation of Ads and Editorial Content

  • Ads will always be clearly marked as advertisements.
  • Sponsored resource centers or partner sections will be labeled with the sponsor’s name.
  • Clicking an ad will take you to the advertiser’s website, not to Ask Dokita editorial content.

5. Sponsored Content

  • From time to time, we may publish sponsored articles, reviews, or co-created content in partnership with trusted brands.
  • Sponsored content will always be clearly labeled as “Sponsored by [Brand]” or “In partnership with [Brand]”.
  • Sponsored content does not influence our independent editorial work.

6. Affiliate Links

  • Some of our articles may include affiliate links to health products, apps, or gadgets.
  • These products are chosen by our editors because they may be useful to readers.
  • If you click on an affiliate link and make a purchase, Ask Dokita may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you.

7. Partner Programs

  • Occasionally, we may collaborate with health-related organizations, services, or products that align with our mission.
  • Partner content will be clearly labeled as such, e.g., “Partner Content”.
  • Such pages are not part of our editorial content and will not go through our medical review process.
  • If revenue is earned through these partnerships, we will disclose it clearly on the page.

8. Commitment to Trust

At Ask Dokita, we are firm about editorial independence. Sponsors, advertisers, or partners cannot influence the accuracy, tone, or honesty of our content. Our readers always come first
